What to expect at your first appointment

  • Updated X-Rays Are Taken

    If you haven’t had x-rays in awhile, your provider will take up to date x-rays for you, which will help diagnose any underlying concerns that may be around your gums or beneath the surface of your teeth. These images are essential to provide the highest quality of oral healthcare and in catching problems early, before they get more serious and expensive to fix.

  • Comprehensive Exam

    Your dentist will examine your x-rays, and will complete a chair-side examination with you. They take the time to look thoroughly at your teeth, gums, and the surrounding tissues. They will discuss any conditions present at that time, using the x-rays and real-time photos or video to show you what may need attention.

  • Professional Cleaning

    Your hygienist or dentist will thoroughly clean your teeth, removing any build-up or tartar that may be present. This helps improve the gum and tissue health, and helps with other things like staining or bad breath. Fluoride treatment can also be used to strengthen the teeth and help prevent future cavities. This is an important part of maintaining good oral health, and is typically recommended every six months for most patients, but may be more frequent for some.

  • Personalized Treatment Plan

    Based on our exam findings, we will present to you a personalized treatment plan to restore your teeth back to optimal oral health. If you’re already there, that’s great! We will get you scheduled for your next check-up and cleaning appointment, and send you on your way with sparkling clean teeth!

  • Follow Up Appointment

    If you had treatment needs that you would like addressed, our friendly front desk team will assist you in scheduling your next visit. They will be able to answer any questions you may have regarding cost of treatment, insurance, or our dental membership plans. If you do not have any treatment needs following your exam and cleaning, you’ll be scheduled for your next routine check-up and cleaning.

  • We will perform a thorough exam to evaluate the health of your teeth and gums. This includes oral cancer screenings, measuring gum pockets, and dental x-rays to check for issues that may not be able to be seen otherwise.

  • After your dental examination, we will determine an individualized cleaning and maintenance schedule. In many cases, a cleaning can be completed the same day.

  • For those who grind their teeth, we may recommend an occlusal guard to be worn to protect the teeth from severe wear and fractures.

  • We treat patients young and old and love kids! However, for kiddos who are extremely anxious or require sedation, we may recommend they visit one of our trusted pediatric dentist colleagues.

  • We understand some patients have dental anxiety. Ask us about our different relaxation options for your visit.
